Lilith walked into the inn, the loud raucous in the common room coming to a halt. It was near dusk, and she needed a place to stay. Demon or no, she still had to rest at some point. She walked over to the innkeeper, asking for a room and a meal. He began to reject, but stopped as she quickly pressed gold coins into his hand. It was more than he usually saw from twenty customers in a day, so he kept quiet and had a maid show her to her room.
She shut the door behind her, and ran her eyes over the room. It was in horrible condition, despite the innkeeper's assurances that she was to recieve the best room. It was dusty, and the bed was lumpy. It'll have to do, though. This is the only inn for miles... she thought as she returned to the common room. The noise had started up again, and didn't halt this time, though other customers eyed her warily as she made her way to a table in a dark corner.
